National History
In 1925, a small group of women formed The Charity League in Los Angeles to support Childrens Hospital. They made layettes and delivered baskets of food to the hungry. Sometimes they brought their daughters with them. By 1938, so many daughters had become involved that they decided to form their own group. They called themselves Ticktockers. In 1946: they reorganized and became the National Charity League. Today, NCL thrives in local communities in 165 chapters across the United States. They have doubled in size over the last ten years, and now have nearly 48,000 members – women and daughters in grades 7 through 12 – in 17 states.
Las Vegas Chapter History
The Las Vegas Chapter of National Charity League was founded in 2003 by Laura Hobbs and Janice Stromberg. Both mothers wanted to provide their daughters with a quality community service opportunity. Charter status with the National organization was obtained in April of 2005. Our first graduating class held their Senior Presents in 2006.
